A senior US military official has said that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is attacking Taliban militants in Afghanistan, mainly in regions close to Pakistan.
According to the Dawn, Brigadier General Wilson Shoffner said that ISIS’ growth in Afghanistan could influence US plans of ending its 14-year-old military mission there.
The Obama administration has pledged to withdraw all the troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2016.
It has already reduced the US troop presence from more than 100,000 to less than 10,000.
