The Hyderabad-based Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) on Tuesday announced the successful test firing of the Amogha series of anti-tank missiles. The Amogha-1 is BDL’s maiden missile system. It is an anti-tank guided missile and would be handed over to the Army for induction. The BDL said that two Amogha-1 missiles hit their targets 2.6 km and 2.8 km away respectively. The tests were carried out at the Babina Army Range in Madhya Pradesh. “BDL has successfully tested the indigenously developed second generation, 2.8 km range, anti-tank guided missile, Amogha-I at the Babina Army Range on September 10. This is the first missile designed and developed by Bharat Dynamics Limited, the release said.
